Yoga
Most people have heard about yoga in reference to its practice as an avenue towards physical fitness through exertion, poses and balancing. These are common misconceptions and EVERYONE can do yoga. Just as our bodies look and respond to stimuli differently, the same is true with yoga as therapy. In fact, yoga therapy can help people who have physical limitations, active individuals and experienced, seasoned yogis!
The yogic model of health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or system separately. Yoga Therapy is a safe way of working with the natural capacity of your body and mind to optimize well-being. Yoga Therapy is the specific application of yogic tools (postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, etc.) to address an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional balance. Each session is tailored to each client’s individual needs and limitations. Yin Yoga is one of the types of yoga I use that involves no standing or balancing. Yin is not “restorative” but more of a “release” in the language of therapeutic yoga.
Please Allow 90 minutes for the first session as it involves an intake process prior to the actual session.
*We also offer both virtual and in-person Yoga services.
The use of Yoga Nidra (sleep yoga), breathwork, crystals, visualization and sound are woven into our Therapeutic Yoga sessions.
